Tom started running before double digits. In primary school joining in with the inter schools cross country and also taking on all of the junior races and ‘fun runs’ that ran alongside the actual local races where his dad often competed. From here he went on to represent Shropshire in the English schools cross country championships alongside other events on the track, but only races from 800m and above! Alongside running in school he also swam, and at the age of 12 made the turn to triathlon racing in the tri star age groups.
Fast forward a few years representing GB in the European standard distance championships coming away with 3rd in the under 18s and now Ironman finishes and multiple AG 70.3 wins under his belt, the run is his strength on the back end of a triathlon. Aside from triathlon Tom’s personal preference is the half marathon and marathon distance for the pure challenge, and the fine line of pacing. Tom is the co-founder and coach of Total Strength Endurance helping athletes unlock more athletic potential through bespoke strength and conditioning.
