Kirsty started her running journey in 2016 after becoming a Mum and wanting to find some fitness. With no background in sport, she decided to join a couch to 5k running program. Like many that find sport in adult life, the buzz of achieving a goal took hold and Kirsty soon began to work her way through races, increasing the distances until she was entering into the ultra-marathon scene by 2018. With a passion for going long, Kirsty likes to focus on ultra-distances and has a love of the trails as much as chasing a time on the road. In 2022 she was able to qualify for a GFA place at London Marathon and the next goal is to tick off the rest of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. In keeping with endurance events Kirsty also competes in 70.3 and full distance triathlon, qualifying for Ironman 70.3 World Championships, Utah and the GB Age Group team. Come the winter months she aims to complete bucket list ultra-events and is currently running the 630 mile Southwest Coast Path when she can escape for a weekend on the trails.
Kirsty has been a coach with sister brand Total Tri Training since 2020 and one of her motivations to create a running community through Total Run Training is the lack of run specific coaching that appears available on the run scene. In an attempt to bridge this gap Kirsty wants to bring her knowledge of coaching triathlon coupled with her love of running and nutrition planning to the Total Run Training Community.
Kirsty has completed UKA (LiRF)leadership in running fitness and leads a run group in Somerset as part of Total Run Training. This includes social runs, coached track sessions and team race outings alongside run specific coaching opportunities.
